Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve work efficiency by placing line connecting pads in paris of point symmetry with respect to fixed point on a substrate whereby making if unnecessary to distingush the upper and lower side of a chip. CONSTITUTION:P layers 2a, 2b... are formed on an n type compound semiconductor substrate 1 constituting fiber shaped light emitters A, B.... Protected by an SiO2 film 4, electrodes 3a, 3b... are formed each in specific patterns for each light emitter and contact the P layers 2a, 2b.... The electrodes are formed along but not covering the light emitters some of which extend for form line connecting pads 5a, 5b.... The segment of the light emitting element consists of the light emitters A, B... and electrodes thereof 3a, 3b... are aligned symmetrically with respect to the center O of the chip thus making it unnecessary to identify the upper or lower part of the chip and making chip mounting work easy.
