Abstract
PURPOSE:To apply the best amount of a lubricant to the magnetic layer surface of a magnetic disk, by adjusting the time of dipping in the lubricant according to the film thickness of the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A driving shaft 3 is rotated by a motor 6 through a belt 7. The upper part of the driving shaft 3 is threaded and engages with the female screw of the center part of a moving table 11, which is lowered along a guide rod 9 to dip a magnetic disk medium 1 in a bathtub 8 containing a lubricant. While this medium 1 is lowered, an X-ray film-thickness measuring instrument 4 operates to measure the thickness of the magnetic film of the medium when a film-thickness measuring sensor 2 comes close to the medium 1. This measurement result is sent to a speed controlling circuit 5 to control the rotation of the motor 6 so that the medium is drawn up at a predetermined speed.
