Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce slips and to shorten the rolling time, by providing an accelelation-deceleration rate computing circuit (expressed as rate computing circuit hereunder) to compute A-D rate for every pass, and controlling the speed of rolls and table rollers by a command-device according to the A-D rate. CONSTITUTION:A speed controlling device of a hot reversible rolling mill is constituted of a main roll-speed controlling device 7 for controlling a main roll-driving motor 4, table-roller controlling devices 6 for controlling table-roller driving motors 5 arranged on the front and rear sides of the hot reversible rolling mill, and a command-device 9 which gives speed-commands to respective controlling devices. Further, an A-D rate computing circuit 10 which computes at every pass the A-D rate, being as a function of the weight of mateial 3 and the length of material for every pass, is provided. A-D rate computed by the A-D computing circuit 10 is inputted to the device 9, which controls the speed of the main roll 1 and a table roller 2 based on said A-D rate.
