Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the time required for engine stoppage by disposing a fuel stop valve in combination with a fuel injection pump.
CONSTITUTION: A fuel supply stop valve 7 is installed between an injection pump 2 and an auxiliary filter 4. By this installation, the interval between the stop valve 7 and the pump 2 is reduced, a fuel pipe 3 is shortened accordingly, residual quantity of fuel in the pipe 3 is consequently reduced and the stoppage of an engine 1 may be hastened in response to the reduced quantity. In case the shortest shortening possible emergency stoppage time is required, a fuel pipe 6 on the filter 4 side is cut off and an atmospheric air opening pipe 12 connecting a passage, shown by a chain line, to the valve 7 is provided. When the valve 7 is put into operation by an emergency stoppage command, an electric motor 9 is cut, the pipe 3 on the pump 2 side is connected to the pipe 12 and pressed fuel is discharged outside, engine stoppage time being further shortened in accordance with the fuel quantity discharged outside.
