Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable a room cooling operation to be made in a simple manner and at low cost by a method wherein gravels are packed in the space under the floor of a house and the open air is ventilated into the room while the open air is cooled by cool air under the floor.
CONSTITUTION: The gravels 5 are packed in the underfloor space 4 surrounded by a concrete base 2 and a floor plate 3 of the house 1 and heat insulative material 6 is lined on the concrete base 2 and the floor plate 3. Further, a duct 7 communicating with the underfloor space 4 is made to communicate with the interior of the room 8 and the open air is made to flow through the underfloor space 4 from a vent port 10 provided in the base 2 by the air sucking action of an air intake fan 9 provided in the duct 7 so that the open air is cooled by the heat absorbing actions of the gravels 5 and the open air communicates with the room 8 through the duct 7. With the above structure, the open air cooled by the cooling actions of the underfloor space 4 and the gravels 5 can be supplied into the room 8, to thereby cool the room 8 in a simple manner and at low cost.
