Abstract

PURPOSE:To open and close a door electrically by switching over a gear which opens and closes the door with a gear which drives a pickup arm horizontally with an intermediate gear. CONSTITUTION:This record player is a linear tracking record player which has a door 2 covering its turntable surface and also has the 1st gear 10 opening and closing door 2 and the 2nd gear 28a driving a pickup arm 34 horizontally to a record. Further, this record player is equipped with a driving device consisting of a mechanism which decelerates and transmits the rotation of the power shaft 13a of a single motor 13, an intermediate gear 24 which switches engagement between the 1st gear 10 and 2nd gear 28a by sliding in a prescribed direction while linking to the said mechanism, and a switching operating means which changes the intermediate gear 24 over the 1st gear 10 or the 2nd gear 28a. This switchig is performed by operating a lever 26 by a solenoid 25.
