Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of characteristic of a picture tube caused by a heat treatment of high temperature during its production, by supporting a shadow mask with a support mount which is composed of three elastic metal pieces with different coefficients of thermal expansion respectively. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask assembly 18, composed of a shadow mask 16 and a mask frame 17, is supported to a panel pin 20 of an outer hull 11 by a shadow mask support mount 30, which is composed of three metal pieces joining in one body, i.e., an elastic metal piece 31 with about the same coefficient of thermal expansion as the mask frame 17 located at the center, a metal piece 32 with higher coefficient of thermal expansion and a metal piece 33 with lower coefficient of thermal expansion located at both sides of the metal piece 31. According to this constitution, permanent deformation caused by a heat treatment of high temperature during the production of a picture tube will not occur in the positional relationship between the mask frame 17 and the shadow mask support mount 30, thereby deterioration of characteristic, such as color regeneration, can be prevented.
