Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize an output voltage by providing an auxiliary winding to the choke coil of a step-down type converter and by obtaining a voltage proportional to the output voltage of the converter by rectifying a voltage developed across the winding. CONSTITUTION:A choke coil L2 is provided with an auxiliary winding N2 and a voltage obtained by subtracting an output voltage V0 from an input voltage VIN is so applied that a positive potential is generated at the beginning of the winding N1 in a period L2 when a transistor TR is conducting. In a period when the TR is cut off, a voltage V0 is so applied that a negative potential is generated at the beginning of the winding N1. Therefore, a voltage V0' obtained from a voltage developed across a winding N2 through the half-wave rectification of a diode D2 is in proportion to the output voltage V0, so the voltage V0' is detected instead of detecting the voltage V0 to stabilize the output voltage.
