Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a typing machine which is simplified in a structure by providing a pair of actuators in a type head moving mechanism for discriminating the position of a typing head by a detector contacted with either one actuator when the typing head overruns.
CONSTITUTION: The first actuator 20 is provided on the bottom of a carriage 5, the second actuator 21 is provided at the linear unit at the lower stage of a belt 6, and a detector 22 such as a microswitch is disposed in the vicinity of a driven pulley 9. The carriage 5 stops at the overrunning time by a stopper 23 in the vicinity of a drive pulley 8. When a switch 22 is ON at the time of throwing a power source, the carriage 5 is moved rightwardly in the prescribed step by a drive motor 7. When the switch 22 is ON, it is discriminated that the carriage is disposed at the right side end, and when the switch 22 is switched to OFF, it is discriminated that the carriage 5 is disposed at the left side end.
