Abstract

PURPOSE:To control a radiation pattern by arranging a metallic ring in the radiation direction of a spiral antenna. CONSTITUTION:A metallic ring 7 is arranged in the radiation direction of a spiral antenna consisting of spiral radiation elements 1 and 1' and a reflecting plate 4. Consequently, beam width is decreased, so a small-sized primary radiator which has a small spill-over for an opening surface antenna having a small angle of opening is obtained. Further, deviation in a main beam direction is corrected and the rotary symmetry of a main beam is improved. Consequently, beam direction adjustment is performed mechanically and the rate of elliptic polarization is improved.
