Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled material having a thermal quenching initiation temperature of about room temperature, a high thermal quenching damping factor, high sensitivity, and excellent thermal cycle resistance, by using a crystalline organic carboxylic acid salt of a rare earth element consisting of cinnamic acid and europium, as a main component.
CONSTITUTION: The objective material is prepared by using, as a main component, a crystalline organic carboxylic acid salt of a rare earth element consisting of (A) cinnamic acid and (B) europium and pref. (C) a metal element selected from rare earth elements (pref. yttrium, lanthanum, gadolinium, etc.) and EuxM1-x (M is one or more selected metal elements) is pref. 0.04≤x<1. alkaline earth metal elements (pref. Ca, Sr, or Ba). The molar ratio of the component B to the component C represented by (x) in the molecular formula EuxM1-x (M is one or more selected metal elements) is pref. 0.04≤x<1.
EFFECT: The thermal quenching property of the composition can be controlled freely within a wide temperature range by selecting the kind of the metal of the component (C) and the ratio of the metal to Eu.
