Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent lateral electric field when writing is carried out so as to obtain a latent image with distances between dots uniform, by dividing writing signals into two groups, and connecting them successively to land electrodes of two blocks of common electrodes.
CONSTITUTION: Writing signal wires are divided into a group of A0WA3 and a group A4WA7, and the writing signal wires of the groups are connected to the two blocks of common electrodes, and as two of the common electrodes are selected at the same time, both will be at the same electric potential and therefore lateral electric field would not occur. In this state if a signal "0" or "1", i.e. O V or +200V is added to the writing signal wires A0WA3, the ion stream can be selectively controlled without curving its path. Accordingly, without being effected by influence of the adjacent common electrodes as in the prior ion stream electrostatic recorder, the offset of dots due to lateral electric field can be obviated.
