Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a propylene resin compsn. in which the surface properties of molded articles and the balance between various physical properties are improved, by blending talc having a specified particle size distribution with a propylene-ethylene copolymer resin.
CONSTITUTION: 5W50wt% (Based on the total amount of compsn.) talc (having a particle size distribution in which not less than 95wt% particles have a diameter of 10μ or smaller, not less than 85wt% particles have a diameter of 5μ or smaller and 15W60wt% particles have a diameter of 1μ or smaller), is blended with a propylene-ethylene copolymer resin having an ethylene content of 1W30wt%. When talc is composed of less than 95wt% particles having a diameter of 10μ or smaller and less than 85wt% particles having a diameter of 5μ or smaller, the surface impact strength and mar resistance of the resulting compsn. are lowered. Thus, the use of talc having such a particle size distribution is not preferred. When the amount of the particles having a diameter of 1μ or smaller is less than 15wt%, the rigidity and mar resistance of the compsn. are lowered. When the amount of the particles having a diameter of 1μ or smaller exceeds 60wt%, silver streak is easily formed during the molding of the compsn. and flow characteristics becomes poor. Thus, the use of talc having such a particle size distribution is also not preferred.
