Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a kick back action to a brake pedal upon anti-skid control operation, by disposing, in a hydraulic return circuit on the discharge side of a master cylinder, a shut-off valve for shutting-off supply fluid to the master cylinder when the hydraulic pressure is above a predetermined hydraulic pressure, or by doing something like that.
CONSTITUTION: A master cylinder 1 has a first hydraulic pressure generating chamber communicated through a conduit 3 with a front-wheel brake cylinder and a second hydraulic pressure generating chamber communicated with a conduit 4. With this arrangement, the conduit 4 is connected to wheel cylinders 5, 6 of rear wheels W1, W2 through a hydraulic pressure supply circuit 4a, a check valve 12, a conduit 4d, a hydraulic pressure controlling solenoid supply valve 7 and a hydraulic pressure controlling solenoid discharge valve 8. The conduit 4 is also connected to the above-mentioned wheel cylinders 5, 6 through a hydraulic return circuit 4b and a shut-off valve 13. The respective valves 7, 8 are controlled through a control unit 16 under pulse signals having frequencies proportional to rotating speeds of the wheels W1, W2 detected by wheel speed detectors 14, 15, thereby to prevent the wheels W1, W2 from skidding.
