Abstract

PURPOSE:To fetch the picture information to a page buffer without error taking the detected size with priority, by detecting the size of an input original and reading the picture information correctly based on the detected size. CONSTITUTION:A picture input device 1 is provided with a driving section carrying an original and a read section reading through optical scanning, the photoelectric-converted picture information is outputted to a picture but GB and inputted to a picture procesor 2. The picture information for one page of original's share is stored to a page buffer 2a of the device 2. Each information is inputted to a CPU 3a of an operation control section 3 from a keyboard 3c, and the control information from the CPU 3a is applied to the input device 1, picture processor 2, picture storage device 4 and picture output device 5. The input device 1 of the picture information file device with this constitution is provided with a detection section detecting the size of an original, and based on the result of detection of the detecting section, the read picture information is shrinked at a magnification/shrinking circuit 2b to store in the buffer 2a.
