Abstract
PURPOSE:To fix securely plural conductors by a method wherein, in an electromagnetic coil suited for use in nuclear fusion plant, by combining a partly-projected conductor and a partly-recessed conductor and in the vicinity of these projected and recessed sections tapered insulating layers are built and yet in their circumferences combined insulating layers are built. CONSTITUTION:A projected section 20 is built on a conductor 12A constituting a coil, and two recessed sections are built on a conductor 12B. These projected section 20 and recessed sections 22 are combined via two insulating keys 24. Around the projected section 20 and recessed sections 22, tapered insulating layers 26 are built, and an integrated body of conductor 12A with conductor 12B is fixed around the insulating layers 26, and also combined insulating layers 28 serving as an insulator are built around the insulating layers 26. Moreover, corona shielding layers 30 are built on the surface of interlayer insulating layers 14 and insulating layers 28. With this structure, the conductor 12A is rigidly fixed to the conductor 12B so that it can fully resist a large electromagnetic force. Therefore, extension of a coil can be prevented, and dielectric breakdown can be avoided.
