Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the small-sized inductor which can be mounted on a base plate in a stable manner, by winding a coil on the intermediate part of a drum-type core, by connecting terminals to a conductive layer on the end surface of a flange part and by putting a metallic square-shaped cap fitly on the end surface of the flange part. CONSTITUTION:The coil 11 is wound round on the central part of the drum-type core 12 and the terminals 13a and 13b are drawn out and soldered to silver-paste layers 15a and 15b on the end surfaces 14a and 14b of the flanges 12a and 12b, respectively. Moreover, metallic square-measure-type caps 16a and 16b are put on the flanges 12a and 12b are soldered thereto. In addition, the end surfaces 14a and 14b other than the conductive layers 15 and 15b of the flanges 12a and 12b are connected with the inside bottoms of the caps 16a and 16b by a thermosetting bonding agnt. By this constitution, an exposed lead wire is unnecessitated, and since one side surface of the cap is flat, the small-sized inductor which can be mounted directly on the base plate is obtained.
