Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent any power reduction in a nuclear power plant or the like by constructing it in such a manner that in operation with one of a feed water heating lines cut off, the drained steam in the cut-off line may be smoothly transferred to a condenser.
CONSTITUTION: Moisture separators 6a, 6b are respectively disposed in steam pipes 31a, 31b which connect a high pressure turbine 5 and a low pressure turbine 9 to each other and connected through connection pipes 33a, 33b to drain tanks 21a, 21b which are connected to feed water heaters 14a, 14b, respectively. A drain pipe 27 running from both the drain tanks 21a, 21b is connected to a condenser 11 via a check valve 28 and a drain regulation valve 29 disposed on the way. The drain regulation valve 29 is electrically connected to level detectors 30a, 30b of the drain tanks 21a, 21b respectively and opened or closed by the control of the detectors. In operation where one of lines containing heaters 13a, 14a respectively is cut off, excessive drain in the drain tank 21a, or 21b is directly fed into a condenser 11 and condensed into water after mixed with a steam from the low pressure turbine 9.
