Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a rear conversion lens of simple constitution for a large-diameter astronomical telescope having small aberrations, by making a lens system, consisting a negative and a positive lens successively from an object lens side, meet prescribed requirements. CONSTITUTION:A lens system, consisting of a negative lens having a concave surface on an image side and a positive lens having a convex surface on an objective lens side successively from the objective lens side, meet requirements as shown by inequalities (1)-(4). In the inequalities, fi, ri, ni, and nui are the focal length, radius of curvature, refractive index to a line (d), and Abbe number of the (i)-th lens from the objective lens side. Consequently, the rear conversion lens, when equipped to the objective lens of an about 1:12 aperture ratio astronomical telescope, provides about 1.4 magnification of the focal length.
