Abstract
PURPOSE: To find the position and diameter of reinforcement buried in concrete, etc,, by irradiating the concrete, etc., with X rays from two positions and by performing calculation or plotting by using the obtained projection chart.
CONSTITUTION: Reinforcement 2 buried in concrete 1 surrounded with the X and Y axes is irradiated with X rays from an irradiation source 4 to project an image X2 of the reinforcement 2 on a film 3. similarly, a projection of the reinforcement 2 is obtained by using another irradiation source. While the intersection of center straight lines connecting the X-ray irradiation sources at those two positions and the two corresponding projections is denoted as the position (Xc, Yc) of the reinforcement 2, the diameter of the reinforcement 2 is calculated by using various actually measured value on a projection chart. On the plane consisting of the X and Y axes, two focal points F1 and F2 and projection charts 5 and 5' of the reinforcement 2 irradiated with X rays from the F1 and F2 are plotted, thus finding the position and diameter of the reinforcement 2.
