Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure the lubricating condition between a mold and an ingot from the magnitude of the differences in vibrations in plural positions of the mold by detecting said vibrations and comparing the vibration outputs between the plural positions.
CONSTITUTION: The vibration output of an output y1 (t) is detected with a vibration detector 12 mounted to a vibrating table 6 on the L surface side of an ingot 3, and is inputted to a differential amplifier 20. Similarly, the vibration output of an output y2 (t) is detected by a vibration detector 13 mounted to a vibrating table 6 on the F surface side of the ingot 3, and is inputted to the amplifier 20. The amplifier 20 determines the difference between the outputs y1 (t) and y2 (t) and inputs the same to a signal processor 24. The difference in the vibration output of the specific frequency region of the vibration output y1 (t) and y2 (t) of a mold 2 during operation shows the difference in the friction state between the L surface and F surface of the ingot 3 with the mold 2. The difference in the vibration outputs is arithmetically processed in the processor 24, and is recorded continuously in a recording display device 25.
