Abstract
PURPOSE:To combine the function of sheet folding with a sheet turning-over device used for a copying machine capable of printing on both sides of the sheet, by making it possible to fold the sheet double through a checking member positioned in the checking position thereof and to turn over the sheet through the checking member positioned in the admitting position thereof. CONSTITUTION:A sheet (a) fed from a fixing device is bit into a nip portion A and then successively fed through first and second chutes 35, 37 and a third chute 37 by means of second and third rolles 32, 33. Since the leading end a'' of the sheet abuts against a stopper 39 before the trailing end a' of the sheet leaves the nip portion A, the sheet (a) is folded by the transferring force thereof, and therefore the resulted folded portion a''' is bit into the transferred by a nip portion B, thereby the sheets (a) are sequentially sent out by the rolls 31, 32 while they are folded double. Then the sheet (a) is transferred through second and third gates 45, 46 and a fifth chute 47, and is then bit into nip portion D so as to be moved for being surely folded further between the first roll 31 and a holding roll 44, thereby the completely folded sheet is sent out through a nip portion C so as to be conveyed by discharge rolls 41, 42.
