Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove foreign matter surely with simple constitution by mounting a disc cleaner to part on an arm member holding a read element. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning member 12 is mounted in the part forer than the read element 6 of an arm member 7 holding the element 6 in a housing 17 of an optical disc reproducer. A soft member 14 consisting of a velvet fabric contacting the surface of a disc 1 is adhered to part of a body 13 formed of the resin of the member 12. An elastic body 15 is inserted between the body 13 and the projecting part 7' provided to the member 7. An L-shaped member 16 is provided to part of the housing 17 to obviate flying out of the body 13 upward from the disc surface owing to the contact pressure with the disc 1 when the member 7 is moved out from the outermost circumference of the disc by its feed driver. Thereby, foreign matter is surely removed by the simple constitution.
