Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain continuous and economical temperature control in an air conditioner having an air-mixing door, by interrupting the operation of a compressor and adjusting the air-mixing door to the maximum cooling position, when the cabin temperature reaches a predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:A blower motor 2 is controlled on the basis of the deviation of the cabin temperature 11 from a set temperature 10 added with a correction corresponding to the outside temperature 12. The opening degree of an air-mixing door 4 is calculated by adding the time integration term of a temperature deviation correction to a blower motor control signal so as to provide the optimum flow rate and to control a refrigerant compressor 8. When the temperature deviation is greater than a predetermined value, the refrigerant compressor 8 is stopped and the opening degree of the air-mixing door 4 is corrected toward the cooling side at a speed determined by a microcomputer 14 in order to prevent the sudden change of the discharte temperature. The moving speed of the air-mixing door is dependent on the temperature graduation of the cabin temperature. Accordingly, the interruption of the operation of the refrigerant compressor is extended and the fuel economy is improved.
