Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a deflection amount of ink drops constant at all times and to form a high quality picture, in a charge-deflecting ink jet recorder, by controlling the drive frequency of an ink-feed pump with an ink (head) temperature. CONSTITUTION:Ink in a tank 1 is injected froman ink head 5 through an accumulator 3 and an electromagnetic valve 4 by a fixed flow amount-type ink-feed pump 2, and the obtained ink drops are selectively charged with a charge electrode in response to a picture signal and deflected with a deflection electrode 7 to perform typeprinting on a recording sheet 9 (a mark 8 is a gutter). In said device, the ink head 5 is provided with a temperature detector 10, so as to control drive frequency to the ink-feed pump 2 of a variable-frequency device 12 through a control circuit 11 by the obtained temperature signal (when the detected temperature is lower, the drive frequency is set at a higher level). Thus, the impetus of the ink drops is maintained at a constant level, and its deflection amount is consequently uniformed.
