Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to control the heat input to a boiler by a system wherein the calorific value of the coal under combustion can be estimated on-line real-time from the thermal output efficiency of the coal firing boiler.
CONSTITUTION: The fuel flow is determined by a fuel flow command circuit 2 based on the output of a thermal output damand signal circuit 1 set by the output demand signals of a generator and the like. On the other hand, the outputs of the thermal output damand signal circuit 1, a coal feed signal circuit 5 and a thermal efficiency inputting circuit 10 are inputted into a thermal efficiency calculating unit 9 in order to calculate the thermal output efficiency of the boiler. The calculated output is processed through a calorific value calculating circuit 8, a calorific value correction circuit 7 and a multiplier 6 and the deviation of the processed output from the command value of the fuel flow command circuit 2 is obtained in order to input into a PI controller 3. The PI controller 3 controls the speed command of a coal feeder 4. In such a manner as described above, the variation of the calorific value of the fuel can be corrected so as to proportionate the fed fuel flow to the necessary heat input.
