Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform the combustion with optimum air fuel ratio and keep the combustion temperature at the set temperature by a method wherein the amount of combustion air is controlled in accordance with the variance of the grade and flow rate of the fuel gas generated from solid waste melting furnace.
CONSTITUTION: Temperature detecting terminals 7, 9 and 10 are provided at the front, middle and rear parts of the combustion chamber 3 for the gas generated from the melting furnace of solid waste such as refuse or the like. When the temperature of the detecting terminal at the front part lowers below the set temperature due to the drop of the calorific value of the generated gas, the amount of air is quickly lowered so as to have the lower limit value determined from the values of air fuel ratio μ of about 0.3W1.5, which are applied to the gas with smaller calorific value, as its lowermost amount. On the contrary, when the temperature of the detecting terminal at the front part exceeds the set temperature due to the rise of the calorific value of the generated gas, the amount of air is slowly increased so as to have the upper limit value detemined from the values of air fuel ratio μ of about 0.8W2.0, which are applied to the gas with larger calorific value, as its uppermost amount. And yet the lower limit value of secondary combustion air is set so as to have the air fuel ratio μ in respect to the total combustion air of 1.1 or more, providing against the sudden rise of the calorific value of the generated gas after the throttling down of the amount of air due to the drop of the calorific value of the generated gas to the lower limit value.
