Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover high purity gaseous CO2 without mixing generated gaseous CO2 with combustion waste gas and to manufacture CaO by separating a decomposition reaction tower for limestone from a reheating tower.
CONSTITUTION: Limestone is fed into a decomposition reaction tower 1 from a feeding inlet 5 or 6 and decomposed into CaO and much CO2 at 900W1,000°C. Most of the CaO is discharged from a discharge outlet 14. Gaseous CO2 accompanied by fine CaO particles is exhausted from an exhaust port 13 and recovered as high purity CO2 through cyclones 7, 8 and a purifying cooler 10. On the other hand, hot combustion gas from a feeding inlet 17 of a reheating tower 15 or fuel from a feeding inlet 18 is burned with air from a feeding inlet 20 to raise the internal temp. of the tower 15 to 950W1,200°C, and a fluidized bed 16 of particles of a heat medium is formed. The hot particles heated in the tower 15 enter the lower part of the tower 1 through a connecting pipe 24 and supply heat to decompose CaCO3. The particles after the temp. drop return to the tower 15 from the upper part of the tower 1 through a connecting pipe 23, they are heated again, and said circulation is repeated.
