Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a simple, convenient, and rapid test by repeatedly performing comparing operation of sensed signal outputted in response to each light receivong element of a display device separately over one or more periods of lighting, flashing, and switching. CONSTITUTION:The display 1, wherein numbers and alphabetical characters are displayed by emitting elements such as LED segments which are arranged to be dynamically lighted, is connected to a key board 9. An electromagnetic solenoid 11 is actuated by a signal outputted from an operation control part 8 to an operating part 10 via a relay 12, and keys of the key board 9 are struck. The light L emitted from the LED segment group in the display 1 is received by light receiving devices 6a, 6b..., corresponding to respective LED segments, and converted and amplified signals S1, S2,... are inputted into a control part 8. In order to avoid erroneous judgement, the operating process is repeated for all the LEDs separately over at least one or more periods of dynamic lighting.
