PURPOSE:To decrease the breaking accidents of projecting portions of a lamp, by setting supporters of a lamp in both side portions of the wall of a microwave cavity slidably back and forth by means of supporting springs and making the lamp supporters to support the projecting portions of the lamp. CONSTITUTION:Light is radiated by emitting a microwave in a waveguide 3, from a magnetron 1, forming a microwave electromagnetic filed by leading the microwave in a microwave cavity 4 from a feed opening 5 and making a discharge in a lamp 6 by the microwave electromagnetic field. In this case, stopper 13 are attached to both outside portions of the cavity wall 41, lamp supporters 12 made of light transmitting quartz tubes are inserted into the inside of the stopper 13 interposing springs 14, and a lamp 6 is supported at its both ends by inserting the projecting portions 16 of the lamp into the holes 11 on the end of the supporters 12. Thereby, the lamp 6 can be supported easily in a given position by moving the lamp supporters 12, and the breaking accident of the projecting portions 16 of the lamp at the time of setting can be eradicated.
