Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the area of an abnormal part and to find a heat loss amount, by a method wherein a temperature distribution at a wide range of an object is observed using an infrared camera which detects the amount of infrared rays radiated from an object and reconstitutes the change into the amount of infrared rays in the form of a picture. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal from an infrared camera 10 is indicated as a picture in a shape of a monocolor or in a dummy color in a monitor TV33 by means of a picture storage means 20 and a TV indicating means 30. Then, a switch 41 optionally extracts a picture signal for one picture out of picture signal outputs which are indicated into a digital manner and are sent from a frame memory writing circuit 22 of a memory means 20, and a classification means 20 classifies the picture signals into temperature levels approximately set. An output from a decoder 42 is inputted to an area computing means 50, the number of picture elements, inputted at each level is computed, and areas of regions at said temperature levels of an object are determined separately.
