Abstract

PURPOSE:To jet ever stable ink particles by providing an ultrasonic wave absorbing member on the rear wall of a liquid chamber for preventing the reflection of the vibration of ink on the rear wall of the liquid chamber and for stabilizing the vibration of ink within the liquid chamber resulting from temperature variation. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave absorbing member 12 is disposed on the rear wall (a wall in the vicinity of an ink inlet 11) of a liquid chamber 6. A pressurized ink is supplied into the liquid chamber 6 from an ink supply tube 14 through the ink inlet 11 and an ink passage 13 and is jetted out through a nozzle 3. An electrostrictive vibrator 7 is caused to vibrate by the application of a high frequency signal so that the ink contained in the liquid chamber 6 is excited. Since the vibration of the ink is not reflected by the absorbing member 12, the vibration of the ink within the liquid chamber is stabilized if the wavelength of the vibration of the ink is changed with the change in termperature.
