Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the generation of cracking and crazing in secondary operation by cooling quickly the product made by compressing molten metal with the molding surfaces of a body by moving the same forward in the solidification process of the molten metal and knocking out the same after solidification, then subjecting this product to secondary operation at prescribed temps.
CONSTITUTION: A movable die 2 is moved forward toward a stationary die 1, and parting faces 1b, 2b are clamped in pressure contact with each other, thence molten metal 4 is cast by an injection device into the molding part 3 formed by this. The solidification of the molten metal 4 progresses toward the center of the part 3, and at around the time when shrinkage caviteies, air inclusion cavities, residual gas cavities, etc. begin to form in the central part, a body 2" is moved forward by a prescribed extent by turning of a cam 5b to compress a half-solid product 17 with its molding surface 2a, by which the gases 14 in the cavities are discharged through passages 15 and the cavities are crushed.
