The VHS cassette tape 1 consists of a magnetic tape 12 contained in a jacket 11, guard panel 13, and an information storage part 14 with comparatively small capacity. When the cassette tape 1 is loaded on a VTR device, the cassette panel 13 is opened, the magnetic tape 12 in it is drawn out and wound on a head cylinder for recording/playback of the information. When the cassette tape 1 is loaded on the playback device, the content stored in the information storage part 14 is read in at the information reader and the content of information recorded on the magnetic tape 12 is discriminated whether it is the desired content or not.
