Abstract

PURPOSE:To conduct measurement of length automatically and accurately by putting a mark of a branch point on a running cable by an output from a length- measuring part which is contact and engaged with the cable on the basis of data of measured length memorized beforehand by a microcomputer and by preparing an operation label based thereon. CONSTITUTION:A length-measuring wheel 4 is made to contact and engage with the cable 1 supplied from a supply drum 2 toward a winding drum 3, and with the rotation of the wheel a rotary encoder 5 generates a measured-length pulse. Data prepared on the basis of a design value is inputted beforehand in the microcomputer (MC)6 by means of a paper tape 7. MC6 counts the measured-length pulse and, based on the data memorized, marks the branch point on the cable by means of a color spray unit 9, while printing a print 10 of the result of operation. And a label printer 11 is operated and thereby a label whereon the number of branch, the length of branch, etc. are recorded is prepared. By this constitution, the operation for measuring the length of the branch points can be conducted accurately and automatically in a limited place.
