Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect flames of even a burner, whose NOX is reduced, securely by condensing the real image light of a burner flame and by guiding it to a photoelectric converting element through an optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A fitting jig 3 is set in the burner fitting hole 2 of the wall of a combustion oven, such as a boiler, and then real image light beams which correspond to the brightness of the primary flame 14... are condensed by an objective lens 7 and photodetected by a photoelectric converting element group 8 after traveling in many optical fibers 6.... The outputs of the group 8 are processed by an A/D converter 9 and a comparator 10 wherein a reference value is set to perform the display, which corresponds to flame detection, on a display device 11. This system which photodetects the real image light detects the flames of even a burner, whose NOX is reduced, securely as compared with other systems which detect ultraviolet rays absorbed by gaseous CO while an NOX countermeasure is taken or detect infrared rays which are hard to discriminate from products from the oven wall or other flames.
