Abstract
PURPOSE:To make a titled oscillator stable against temperature and to avoid error in oscillating period, by using the coupling circuit of an emitter follower of both PNP and NPN transistors (TRs) as a clamp for a hysteresis comparator oscillator. CONSTITUTION:Expressing resistance values of resistors 19, 20 as R19, R20, a clamp voltage VINOT of an inverting input terminal IIN of a comparator 29 is shown in Equation I, where VBE21, VBE23 are base-to-emitter voltages of NPN TR21 and PNP TR23. The 1st terms of Equation I is independently of temperature and the temperature characteristics of the VBE in the 2nd and 3rd terms are canceled with each other. Thus, the voltage VINOT is very stable against temperature and a clamp type oscillator having stable temperature characteristics can be achieved. When a switch 18 is closed, since the base of the TR21 is lifted up to the power supply voltage, the potential of the emitter of the TR21 is pulled up, the TR23 which is clamped turns off and oscillation is started. In this case, the time error in the 1st period is not caused entirely.
