PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous operations when characters are inputted, by acoustically informing that whether characters inputted by the operator are KANJI (Chinese character) or KANA (Japanese syllabary). CONSTITUTION:This equipment is constituted of a mechanism which converts input KANA (including Roman letter) into KANJI, a KANJI shift key which gives an instruction to convert KANA into KANJI, and a voicing means which informs whether the inputted KANA is to be converted into KANJI or not. For example, when the KANJI shift key is depressed, a buzzer sounds, and, therefore, ''kihonteki'' (fundamental in English) is inputted through KANA keys. When the KANJI key is depressed successively, another buzzer sounds, and then, KANA ''na'' is inputted through the KANA key. Then characters, ''(kihonteki)na'', which have been converted into KANJI are displayed in the picture. The KANJI converting mechanism is constituted of a CPU, an ROM, an RAM, etc. The speaker, etc., are controlled by a KBI input controlling section which controls KANA keys and ten-keys.
