Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a high temperature corrosion of an exhaust valve and a thermal stress crack etc. in a cylinder head by a method wherein a part of the intake mixture is guided to an exhaust valve through a valve which is opened only when a high load is found so as to enable a cooling of the exhaust valve. CONSTITUTION:When a discharge pressure of a compressor 2 in the turbine super charger 1 is low, a piston 132 is forcedly contacted with a valve seat under a force of spring 134 at a valve 13 in an air passage 12 constituting a cooling device, and the valve 13 is kept closed. When the discharging pressure of the compressor 2 is exceeded over a force of the spring 134, the piston 132 is moved in a rightward direction and an injection port 133 in the valve 13 is opened. Due to this arrangement, a part of the discharged air from the compressor 2 is flowed from an intake pipe 4 through the air passage 12 to the nozzle 11, injected from the nozzle 11 to the cone part of an exhaust valve 9 and a valve seat in the exhaust port 7, and thereby the above-mentioned component elements are cooled.
