Abstract
PURPOSE: To hold a sheet even having a size out of standard at a right feeding position to guide it by a method wherein the sheet guide stopped by a click is moved slightly by the movement of a sprocket.
CONSTITUTION: When the size of the sheet to be disposed is larger than a standard size, a cam 38 is pivoted by the operation of an adjusting knob 37 to move a guide pin 31 being abutted against a cam surface 37a to the left. By the leftward movement of this pin 31, a sliding plate 29 is slided to the same direction and the sprocket 23 provided on this sliding plate 29 is moved to the left. Upon this leftward movement, a chain 22 equipped between the other sprocket 34 extends a tension spring 25 slightly. Subsequently, the tension side 22a of the chain 22 moves the sheet guide 10 to the left in accordance with the movement of the sprocket 23 and moves the other sheet guide 11 to the right through a sprocket 24 to enlarge the distance between both of the sheet guide 10, 11. Thereafter, the knob 37 is turned reversely and the sheet guides 10, 11 are abutted against and aligned with the side rims of the sheet.
