Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a specified output voltage by a method wherein the voltage of an AC power source is controlled by changing over a rectifier circuit through a discriminately controlling means. CONSTITUTION:A circuit 4 for discriminating peak-to-peak values in a discriminately controlling means 3, the level of the peak value of an AC input power voltage is judged from its relation to the specified set value. Then a timing signal is transmitted each time the peak value of the AC input power voltage is detected by a circuit 5 for setting timing. Based on the outputs of the circuit 4 for discriminating the peak value and the circuit 5 for setting timing, a changeover switch is controlled to allow either a bridge rectifier circuit 1 or a voltage multiplying rectifier 2 to operate, so that the specified output voltage becomes obtainable at all times.
