Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve light transmittability by injecting a polymerizable monomer composition into a thermoplastic resin tube, heating one end thereof to a polymn. initiation temp., moving the heating position successively to the other end direction of the tube, and successively polymerizing from the other end. CONSTITUTION:A polyvinylidene fluoride tube 1 filled by pressure with a polymerizable monomer composition is immersed in a hot bath 2 of about 70 deg.C. The heating position of the tube immersed therein is moved in an arrow direction toward the other end of the tube at about 1cm/min moving speed. While the polymerizable monomer composition in a tank 3 is being pressed and replenished from the other end of the tube 1, the monomer composition is successively polymerized in the tube 1. An optical transmission body 6 produced in this way does not show any void in the central polymethyl methacrylate PMMA at the cener, and does not show peeling property between the tube 1 and the PMMA, thus having good light transmittability.
