Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The 1,3-substituted pyrazole of formula I [R1 is lower alkyl, or phenyl, naphthyl or pyridyl which may have substituent group selected from halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, and nitro; R2 is 2,2-di-(lower alkoxy)ethyl, 2- (lower alkoxy)-ethenyl or formylmethyl].
EXAMPLE: 3-(2-Ethoxyethenyl)-1-phenylpyrazole.
USE: Agricultural and horticultural fungicide having no phytotoxity against crops.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I wherein R2 is 2,2-di-(lower alkoxy)ethyl or 2-(lower alkoxy)ethenyl, is prepared by reacting the enyne compound of formula II (R3 and R4 are lower alkyl) with a hydrazine compound of formula III in the presence of an alkali. Treatment of the compound thus prepared with an acid gives the compound of formula I wherein R2 is formylmethyl.
