Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a large amount of gaseous methane and remove org. components efficiently by subjecting the night soil having undergone ammonia removal treatment to methane fermentation treatmtment in an anaerobic nitrifying tank then aerating the same in an aerating tank.
CONSTITUTION: Skimmed night soil is supplied to an ammonia removing reaction tank 1, where it is removed of ≥60% ammoniacal nitrogen components, after which it is supplied to the 1st anaerobic nitrifying tank 2 then to the 2nd anaeobic nitrifying tank 3, where it is subjected to methane fermentation treatment under 35W37°C conditions by taking about 2 months. After the separated liquid from the tank 3 is diluted to about 20 times in a diluting tank 4, it is supplied in an aerating tank 5 and is aerated there. In a settling tank 6, it is separated of solids and liquids, and is removed of ammoniacal nitrogen components, after which the water is pasteurized and released. The digested sludge taken out in the solid-liquid separation is supplied into a posttreatment device 7 such as dehydration and incineration. The excess sludge from the tank 6 is supplied to a posttreatment device 8 such as dehydration and incineration.
