Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain fresh water from feed water at a high recovery rate of roughly 100% by allowing a material which does not dissolve in water and does not dissolve the salts dissolved in water as a heat medium to contact water contg. salts, or mixing the same with said water and evaporating the water.
CONSTITUTION: Salt-contg. water W contg. salts introduced through a pipe 101 is preheated in a preheater 5, and is supplied through a pipe 102 into an evaporator 1. A heat medium H heated with a heat medium heater 2 utilizing solar heat is introduced into the tank 1, where the water W and the medium H are mixed by an agitator 1a, and are thereby allowed to contact each other. Then, the heat of the medium H shifts to the water W, and the water in the water W evaporates as steam. This steam goes through a pipe 104 and preheats the salt water W in the preheater 5, after which it condenses in a condenser 3. The condensed water is conducted via a pipe 105 to a fresh water tank 6 where it is stored.
