Abstract
PURPOSE:To exercise accurate discrimination, by making the binary decision for noted video element based on the average value of density level of specific video element area and difference between the maximum and minimum values, storing the result to an architecture line memory sequentially, and discriminating the picture area with the stored data. CONSTITUTION:A video signal in video element unit read in at a scanner 1 is converted into a digital signal at an A/D converter 2 and given to a buffer memory 3 sequentially.
