Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of compensation effect, by carrying out a comparison of the frequency spectrum distribution between the input and output signals within the amplifying band of an electric power amplifier including a nonlinear compensating circuit and then giving an automatic adjustment to the nonlinear properties of the nonlinear compensating circuit so as to reduce the undesired spectrum contained in the output signal. CONSTITUTION:A series circuit of a branching device 2, a nonlinear compensating circuit 3, an amplifier 4 for electric power to be comensated and a branching device 5 respectively is installed between an input terminal 1 and an output terminal 6. Then a part of the output of the device 2 is applied to a nonlinear distortion detecting circuit 7, and at the same time the output of the device 5 is branched and supplied to the circuit 7 via an input terminal 12. Furthermore a control circuit 8 is connected to the output side of the circuit 7, and an output 22 of the circuit 8 is applied to the circuit 3. In such constitution, the frequency spectrum distributions of both the input and output signals are detected through the circuit 7, and then compared with each other through the circuit 8. Then the nonlinear properties of the circuit 3 is adjusted to minimize the undesired spectrum contained in the output signal.
