Abstract
PURPOSE:To heat steel materials uniformly in a short time by preheating the steel materials to temps. higher than an intended temp. then uniformly heating the same at the intended temp. in a noninduction heating furnace which id accurately controlled. CONSTITUTION:Steel materials 1 are heated to temps. higher than an intended temp. within a temp. range at which the formation of coarse grains of crystal grains does not occur, by billet heaters 2c, 2d of a high-frequency induction heating furnace 2. Next, the materials 1 are forced into the heater 2c, and the materials 1 heated in said furnace 2 are charged into a noninduction heating furnace 3 controlled at the intended temp. by a feed means 11 for delivering the materials 1 from the inside of the heater 2c to the inside of the furnace 3 and further to the outside of the furnace, whereby the materials are heated uniformly at the intended temp.
