Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a door and thus simplify the structure of a floppy disk device, by inserting detecting a floppy disk and the operation of an external switch, then actuating a carrier driving mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A floppy disk A is inserted along a guide part 27 through an opening 25 of a front panel 24, and the tip of the disk A presses a detector 34. With this detection signal, a motor 37 of a carrier driving mechanism 36 is driven. As a result, a carrier 28 is turned around a shaft 29 via a drive gear 38 and a sector gear 39, and the disk A is positioned by a clamping member 31 and a cone 32. When taking out the disk A, a motor 37 is reversely rotated by operating an external switch 35 to turn the carrier 28, and then the disk A is pushed outside of the opening 25 by an automatic disk exhausting mechanism.
