Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a copying machine easy to use for both a continuosly using operator and the next operator, by returning time mode of the copying machine to its standard mode a prescribed time later for the 1st time, when the power switch is turned off as a result of the occurrence of a fault. CONSTITUTION:If a fulty state which can not be handled is generated, a power source device 4 for control is utilized with its power switch 2 turned off so as to hold in operation part of a copying-machine controller connected to it, and the device is turned off completely a prescribed time later. Consequently, when the power switch 2 is turned off in a normal in-use state, its mode is returned to the standard mode; even when the power switch 2 is turned of on the occurrence of a fault, the preset mode is held by turning on the power switch 2 again after the fault is removed, so copying operation is carried on continuously, thus obtaining a useful copying machine which eliminates the requirement for mode setting.
